"Derrida Artaud -Echos et Forçages"

A paraître dans Les Temps Modernes.This article tries to characterize as accurately as possible, by taking into consideration the many texts that he wrote about Artaud, the type of relation that Derrida wishes to establish between literature and philosophy. Derrida distinguishes between two principal types of commentary: the "commentary-echo", in which the generic syllables of the commented text are repeated and amplified; and the "commentary-forcing", in which a certain displacement is imposed on the commented text. In the first case, the commentary text effaces itself behind the commented text; in the second, it brings it over to its own camp. The two types of commentary are not however exclusive: both aim at making comprehensible the commented text for the first time, paradoxically, after the commentary text, according to the general method of "glas" and of the "always already"; and both lead logically to the co-signature of the commented and the commenting. But neither of the two permits to construct a mode of philosophical commentary of literary texts that might be truly legitimate, due to the absence of a lack in literary texts that philosophy would be in a position to remediate. Deconstruction reveals itself thus to be a one-way affair: as much as literature shows itself capable to get and destabilize philosophy, philosophy itself seems just as incapable to effectuate this same gesture towards literature.Cet article essaie de caractériser aussi exactement que possible, en prenant en compte les nombreux textes qu'il a écrits sur Artaud, le type de relation que Derrida souhaite établir entre littérature et philosophie. Il distingue deux types principaux de " commentaire " : le commentaire-écho, dans lequel les syllabes génériques du texte commenté sont reprises et amplifiées ; et le " commentaire-forçage ", dans lequel un certain déplacement est imposé au texte commenté. Dans le premier cas, le texte-commentaire s'efface derrière le texte-commenté ; dans le second, il le ramène à soi. Les deux types de commentaire ne sont pas exclusifs : tous deux visent à faire entendre le texte-commenté pour la première fois, paradoxalement, après le texte-commentaire, selon la méthode générale du " glas " et du " toujours déjà " ; et tous deux débouchent logiquement sur la co-signature du commenté et du commentant. Mais aucun des deux ne permet de construire un mode de commentaire philosophique des textes littéraires qui soit vraiment légitime, faute de l'existence d'un manque, dans les textes littéraires, que la philosophie serait en mesure de suppléer. La déconstruction se révèle ainsi à sens unique : autant la littérature en elle se montre capable d'atteindre et de déstabiliser la philosophie, autant la philosophie y semble incapable du même geste envers la littérature
